I completed my RQF Level 3 Diploma in Adult Care with Anna in 2021. I have worked with individuals with additional needs, elderly, and presently in Stroke Support. Studying for this diploma has been so valuable to my practice. Anna teaches with passion and enthusiasm for her subject matter. As a tutor she was informed and approachable and encouraged all students to express themselves and share their ideas and experiences.

Completing this qualification gave me a clear understanding of the health and social care sector, the level of responsibility involved, and the accountability needed in a care or support role. I started the Diploma in Adult Care in October 2022. As a 70 year old student I wondered whether I could manage the requirements of the course especially as I was the oldest there. I did not need to worry at all, Anna was amazing and made me feel comfortable from the start. She was always positive throughout the course and full of encouragement. Her taught sessions were very engaging often including anecdotes or a light hearted story related to the topic which lightened the sometimes rather dry content.

Anna organised the session so that we could complete some of the assignments with other students. I enjoyed recording responses to the assignments in a small group as it enabled me to hear how others tackled some of the topics and was a useful way to achieve the credits. The course required written responses as well but Anna was there to give support and guidance to make sure I passed the modules.

I am really pleased that I undertook this Diploma and felt really proud of myself when, in August last year, I was presented with an official City and Guilds Certificate. Thank you Anna for believing in me.

Being not the most academic person I was a-bit nervous about starting and how much the work load would be and what style the diploma would be delivered in. She recognizes that different people learn differently and accommodates to that. Anna made learning enjoyable and grew my passion for learning as she delivers it in such a personal way. She is so understanding, patient and accommodating. Anna is always there to reach out to by phone call or text any day of the week if you have any questions and assures every student of this constantly. Anna makes it known that she wants to help so I was never reluctant or hesitant to reach out to her if I needed help. Her passion for care and people is so evident. Could not recommend ACT enough !!

I would highly recommend Anna as I tutor her patience knowledge and understanding of an individual need is exceptional, she is dedicated to all her students and their style of learning. Giving time and encouragement to all her students in and out of normal teaching hours, she was always available and never made me feel like any question was a stupid one. She guided me through any thing I was having trouble with, in a way that suited my style of learning. She is supportive and encouraged everyone to complete their diplomas being on hand to answer any query or questions.

As a more mature student with previous bad experience of school and higher education I was not looking forward to starting my diploma but needed it to progress to a higher level at work.

Within the first classroom session I felt relaxed and motivated to learn, Anna made the classroom courses something I looked forward to and not with dread. She was clear on what needed to be achieved and never made me feel rushed into completing units, everything was set out clearly and units explained and discussed within the classroom, and she was always made herself available before and after class if anything further was needed to be asked or explained.

Her motivation and knowledge of the care sector is clear to see, and she clearly wants her students to achieve high levels and keeps everyone engaged and motivated to learn making everything accessible and always engaging. Throughout the course I never felt nervous or embarrassed to ask questions and participate in classroom discussions as has been the case with other learning experiences.

The qualification I have recently gained has led to a promotion at work and better understanding of my role, being new to adult healthcare it has helped me progress positively and Anna’s way of teaching has encouraged me to want to learn and progress. I would not of finished my diploma in such a timely manner if it wasn’t for Anna’s unwavering support and encouragement.

I've thought long and hard about my testimonial. So, working with ACT. What can I say? Firstly, to begin with I knew Anna and trusted her, so I knew that my experience was going to be a good one. Having previously experienced a bad learning provider I decided to go with the best of the best. Sometimes you think something is unachievable because you've had a bad experience with a learning provider, and they make you feel worthless, but Anna and Jan reversed that feeling and empowered me to put all my learning into words so thank you. You can't get better than ACT. Now I've completed my level 5 after 30 plus years in my career of working with the elderly. The feeling of accomplishment and achievement I have gained from that is not to be underestimated. It feels amazing. I know I can do the job but to gain the accreditation for it after all these years for me is one of my biggest achievements of my career and vocation. For me my role has never been just a job it's been a lifelong vocation. I started my career at 18 and I'm now 50 plus. So, for me it's my biggest career achievement. Anna and Jan supported me all through it. In the time it took me to complete my level 5 I've been through a lot of personal trauma but focusing on my level 5 actually got me through. Now if you think level 5 is a breeze, I'm afraid your sadly mistaken. It takes commitment, dedication, hard work and time and a lot of that time will be your own personal time which is expected. NO GAIN WITHOUT PAIN. Now I don't say this to put anyone off but it's just the truth. However, Anna and her team are always there it doesn't matter what time, what question you have, if you’re not sure of something they are there. Don't be afraid to ask for help, that’s what they are there for. Anna is so supportive, and knowledgeable and Jan is the same. Ask for help if you feel you are struggling, they will gladly give it. When you've completed it, I can honestly say it's one of the best feelings of accomplishment you will ever have. Thank you both so much for helping me to achieve my lifelong goal. I now feel empowered and that I've accomplished something I have strived to achieve for such a long time. From the bottom of my heart thank you both so much. I think you both know how much this achievement means to me.

I first started my RQF level 3 diploma in adult care in October with Anna, I felt very nervous and felt like I wasn’t able to do this, and Anna made me feel comfortable and made anything seem possible.

Anna is very approachable, and no question was too much bother no matter what the time was. Anna is very good to break down questions and make changes to the learning skills for you to understand it in a better way.

I found the classroom group work very beneficial as everyone is so different in the ways of learning, and I found we could all bounce off each other and listen to each other’s ideas and the ways they see things; Anna is very good to see the way people work and adapt the lesson to the way everyone learnt.

I cannot praise Anna enough for her help. She was always there at the end of the phone, day or night when I had troubles or questions. I was particularly anxious when Anna needed to come with me to my service users houses to do some observations, Anna made me feel so comfortable that I didn’t feel like she was observing me at all. She is very approachable, the help and support she gave me was nothing short of amazing. Her knowledge of the course and classes are very easy to understand.  All the information, resources and print outs that she had given me really helped as well.
